John Clifford

Edit

The newly formed Los Angeles Ballet and Los Angeles Dance Theater (legally incorporated as “John Clifford’s Los Angeles Ballet and “John Clifford’s Los Angeles Dance Theater” dba, “Los Angeles Ballet” and “Los Angeles Dance Theater”) have been created to bring to Los Angeles, and interestingly because of our tour schedule, the world, productions of ballet classics by George Balanchine, and new works primarily by artistic director / resident choreographer, John Clifford. The reason for the double name is due to the dual nature of this enterprise. For our more commercially oriented productions such as the 4 Million dollar “Casablanca, The Dance” produced in association and financed by “Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Inc.” the new live-stage division of Warner Bros. Studios, which successfully premiered last April at the “Great Hall of the People” in Beijing, China, the name “Los Angeles Dance Theater” will be used. For the more standard classical repertoire, “Los Angeles Ballet” will be the name.
